Part I
The past leader of the Red Herrings, Herring, was a well known one, known for his bravery and loyalty. Many grieved when he died, and his son, Rez, is trying to fit into his father's shoes, so to speak..
Not many know about his sister, however. With the name of Scorn, she was born just after Herring. As his little sister, she was his shadow for her whole life, up until he was savagely murdered and left as a warning from an unknown assassin.
From that point, she had watched over her nephew and neices- who were well into their first year, until her nephew, Rez, took up position of alpha. It took a little while for him to, and during that time she held the title of pseudo alpha, until he decided to ascend the throne.
Once her nephew took Herring's place as alpha male, and refused to take a mate, she watched over and made note of every female in the pack that was not closely related to her nephew and alpha. During one of these watches, she came upon a stranger.
Feign
Feign was a handsome, tall black wolf with white streaks who Scorn immediately fell for. He was quick to decipher her infatuation and was even quicker to use it to his advantage. Before the moon they met was over, she had fallen pregnant to his advances.
As she grew through the pregnancy, Feign subtly refused to join in the main pack. In fact, they only met at night, in private. Scorn, embarrassed that her mate was not well known- as she was the aunt of the alpha and litter mate of the old alpha- she did not respond to any questioning of her litter's father.
When her time of birthing approached, Feign suggested that she give birth outside the camp, so they could be alone for the naming and first week or so of the pups' lives. Again, Scorn did not see the obvious signs that the male she had chosen to be her life mate was using her. She simply believed that he was shy around the public- as he had been rather quiet at first.
So she and he dug a den on the outer edges of the territory.
Birthing Day
Her pregnancy came to an end one early morning. Feign was away, per usual, and Scorn wished he was there. She named two of her litter of three. They were both female, and she left the male- a lookalike of Feign almost- to be named by his father. The older of the two, a red and white female, she named Rose. The younger of the two, she named Lotus, for she was a beautiful pup, even from birth.
It wasn't until later that day that Feign came. Learning of the pups' birth, he came in and pretended to be loving and caring of them, but he was rougher than he should have been. Seeing this, the protective mother made him stop touching them. A fighting fit ensued, ending with Feign leaving but pushing a rock in front of the den. Weak from the birth, Scorn cannot push aside the rock. Fearing for her pups' safety, she moved to the very back of the den, where she nursed her pups.
For a week, she was alone with her pups, with no food. Surprisingly, all the pups survive this. Air seemed to leak in through a hole at the top of the den entrance.
After a week, Feign came back, with two other dogs. It took a few minutes, but Feign realized in her food-weak state that they've come to take a pup or two. She screamed for help but the male, who Feign called Gizou, attacked her and held her down as Feign and the female, who Feign called 'Covert', took her two daughters.
Scorn blacked out right after seeing Feign nuzzle Covert, so she wasn't sure she had actually seen it.
Later on, she awoke to find her nephew, Rez, and a few other pack mates there. They attempted to find Feign, Covert, and Gizou, but were unable to. The only pup that the three had left was Faux, the Feign look-a-like.
Seeing Faux was almost too much to bear for Scorn, so she neglected her son as she looked for her daughters. Scorn's niece, Leon, cared for Faux during his first half year.
After six months of searching, Scorn gave up hope. She saw Faux and realized he was a very mild-mannered pup. She saw that he cared for those around him a lot more than Feign had even seemed to, so she eventually tried to get back into his life.
During all this, Rose and Lotus were taught by Feign and Covert, raised as their own pups. Lotus became suave and seductive, like Feign, while Rose seemed outwardly sweet. If Rose was pressured, she would freak out in anger.

Characters:
The Red Herring Pack
Scorn: A red wolf, brother of Herrings and aunt of Rez, Quill, Rave, Leon, and long lost Caw. Usually very vigilant and after Feign even more so, but can sometimes get the wool pulled over her eyes. Mother of Rose, Lotus, and Faux.

Rez: Scorn's nephew and the alpha of the Red Herrings.
Roleplayer: Reqi
Leon: Scorn's niece and the dog who raised Faux till he was six months old. She is a nurse of the Red Herrings.
Roleplayer: None.
The Black Crater Pack
Feign: The large black wolf that seduces Scorn. At the beginning he acts rather shy but when he realizes Scorn is infatuated with him he is quick to act. Sire of Rose, Lotus, and Faux. Later it is discovered that Covert is his mate and he is the alpha male of the Black Crater pack.
Roleplayer: None
Gizou: Gizou is Feign's brother and often helps Feign and Covert in whatever they have to do.
Roleplayer: Grimm
Covert: The alpha of the Black Crater pack and Feign's mate. She adopts Feign's daughter. Whoever adopts her I need to talk to you about some secrets.
Roleplayer: Rush
The First Litter
Rose: The older of the two pups that Covert steals. Sweet on the outside, but quick to anger.
Roleplayer: None
Lotus: The younger of the two pups that Covert and Feign steal. She's a very beautiful wolf who will learn her father's ways of seduction.
Roleplayer: Reqi
Faux: Mild mannered and kind, the pup who was left behind.
Roleplayer: Frosty
