The alphas are the head canines of the pack. They lead everyone else and the pack must go to them with any important news. There is an alpha pair, and though there doesn't have to always be a second canine to the pair, there usually is.

The Jester of the Red Herrings pack is basically the top canine in the council. Once the alpha ranks are empty, this canine and his or her mate will become leader. He is basically the people's voice, and is only below the Alphas and Saints in leadership.
........Council;;
The council of the Red Herrings is a group of five or so wolves who the alphas go to for support and opinions. The alphas don't only go to these five, but they can have other advisers who aren't in the council. The Jester is not counted in the five of the Council, but is the leader of the council.
........Saints;;
The saints are the canines who is the spiritual leaders of the pack. They are given specific roles and are leaders of the ranks below them.
{Delta;;
........Hounds;;
The hounds of the pack are the canines who are swift and fast, usually the hunters of faster prey like rabbits and deer.
........Nurses;;
The nurses are the canines who look over the pups and who help with hurt dogs.
........Guards;;
The guards are the dogs who are buff and strong, they're the ones who keep the pack safe and hunt the bigger prey, like elk.
{Gammas;;
........Subordinates;;
The subordinates are the average dogs who join the pack and have no rank yet.
........Omegas;;
The omegas are the dogs who have been total slackers or have done crimes in the pack. Anyone can spit on them and treat them however they want to.
