It was years ago when the father of the current Pharaoh ruled Nublestia. Itzcoatl Djesersetenpenre was not yet born yet, and it was the time of the reign of mighty Ahuizotl Menmaatre.
Ahuizotl had a childhood love, a slave working for the Khan royal family. Hakali was a loving wolf dog who worked tending the royal herds. The young prince had met her when he was out on a hunt, and the two promptly fell in love.
She was transferred to another owner, a general, by Ahuizotl's jealous Queen, Mutnodjmet, while he was campaign. The Pharaoh sent searches for her, but the mountains which Hakali had moved to was a very desolate place. Little did Ahuizotl know that Hakali was bearing his first son, who should have been the rightful ruler of Nublestia now.
Hakali forgot about Ahuizotl, as their love should've never been. She grew to like the ambitious son of her owner, Montuheb. Montuheb, after the dead of his father, freed Hakali and married her not long after. Little did he know that his children were not his children at all.
The first born son's name was Nefercoatl. There was a daughter too, but the weak pup perished soon despite Hakali's care. Delirious with grief, she blamed it on the malevolent force that acted upon her to separate her from Ahuizotl in the first place: Mutnodjmet.
At this time back in the royal capital, Mutnodjmet had already given birth to the first royal litter of Ahuizotl: Itzcoatl the Crown Prince, his younger brother Tecpatl, and sister, Acatlem. Hakali, knowing that her pup was the rightful claimant to the throne, told Nefercoatl about his past. The young pup grew to feed upon her mother's malevolence, and as Ahuizotl died in a border clash with a jaguar and Itzcoatl ascended the throne, he set out to garner support for his cause...
The present: It is the first year and the sixth moon of the reign of glorious Pharaoh, Itzcoatl Djesersetenpenre Khan, known as Itzcoatl or just plainly by his title, Pharaoh. He rules over an extensive empire in the land of Nublestia, expanded by his forebears and ancestors, Ahuizotl, Chimapopoca, Horakhty...
His older half brother, Nefercoatl, garners support in the mountains. He has even brokered deals with the felines, the wild big cats, to the untamed areas around the valley of Nublestia. These cats have been driven out of their territory by the coming of the wolves, and they are eager for revenge. He promises them land that they had lost to the Nublestians.
Seeing that he has no real power over the people, Nefercoatl mainly buys his own might by bargaining and deceit. His surrogate father, who does not know of his true parentage, had died in the same skirmish as Ahuizotl, and Nefercoatl found himself in charge of his regiment. This is the just the beginning of the revolution...
Plot Potential!
I. Nefercoatl gets captured by Itzcoatl for treason, and he is to be sacrificed to Amun-Ra. However, Nefercoatl survives the plunge into the volcanic slopes and makes his way out, earning more support now that he is the aspect of Amun-Ra.
II. Nefercoatl drives Itzcoatl back towards the mountains, and Nublestia is split into two again. Nefercoatl rules over lower Nublestia and Itzcoatl rules over upper Nublestia.
III. One of Itzcoatl's younger siblings betrays him for Nefercoatl. This sibling, if the brother who is a general, brings part of the army along. If the sister, she will bring her lover who is a general along. The general may oppose the move.
